Museum Living History Tour of Mohawk Valley Cemetery.
Come join the Plumas County Museum on a fun and educational guided tour of the historic Mohawk Valley Cemetery, Saturday, June 1, 2013. Participants will meet at the Graeagle Fire Hall at 2 p.m. for a brief historical overview of the Mohawk Valley and the towns of Graeagle, Blairsden and Clio. Afterward we will travel to the Mohawk Cemetery located off the Johnsville Road where some of the valley’s notable residents are interred. Biographical sketches of some of these people will be presented. At 4 p.m. participants will go to Longboard’s restaurant at Plumas Pines Golf Course for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres prepared by award-winning executive chef Sean Conry and his crew. For the past several years, the Longboards and the Museum have teamed up to present their Art & Artifact Auction. The Mohawk Valley Cemetery Tour is scheduled in lieu of that event. Proceeds benefit the Plumas County Museum. Cost for all of the above is $25 for Museum members and $30 for non-members. For tickets call the Museum at 283-6320 or contact Don Clark, 836-2586.
