Bower was the pen name of western writer, Bertha Muzzy Bower Sinclair Cowan (1871 - 1940) and who wrote several novels while living in Quincy, CA in the 1910s. This article is about her time writing and mining in Nevada after she moved from Quincy. Incidentally, the cabin is still there. There are three other unrelated articles in this issue.
